1. The Evolutionary Design (4 in 1 and 4 in 1)
How does the Palito Bed work and when can I start using it?
The Palito Bed features an evolutionary design made to accompany your child for up to 18 years. The same structure goes through up to 5 distinct phases:
- Phase 1 - Sofa Bed (0 to 1 year):Support point and comfort for parents in the baby's room. (Compatible with the trundle bed)
- Phase 2 - Montessori (1 to 5 years):Close to the floor, encouraging autonomy with complete safety.
- Phase 3 - Complete (5 to 8 years):Elevated with the reinstallation of 20 cm legs and protected by the slatted rails. (Compatible with the trundle bed)
- Phase 4 - Standard Bed (+8 years):Without the rails, it becomes a classic bed ready for adolescence and adult life. (Compatible with the trundle bed)
- Phase 5 - Trundle Bed Configuration:The evolution of space. The trundle bed perfectly integrates with phases 1, 3, and 4, ensuring an extra bed for parents or to host friends.
From what age can my child use the bed?
From birth. In Phase 1, it functions as a supportive sofa bed in the baby's room for breastfeeding and parental rest. Your child can start sleeping in it from the moment you decide to transition them to their own room.
My child is still in a crib — when should I transition to the bed?
The ideal time varies, but the technical recommendation is to transition from 1 year old, or as soon as the child tries to climb the crib rails. The Palito Bed makes this process extremely safe in Phase 2 (Montessori), staying close to the floor to eliminate the risk of falls.
Do the rails, legs, and trundle bed come with the bed?
It depends on the package chosen. When purchasing the complete 4-in-1version, you receive the main base, 20 cm legs, all necessary rails for transformations, and the trundle bed. If you opt for the 4-in-1version, the trundle bed is not included initially, but the main bed structure is factory-prepared to receive it in the future.
Can I buy just the evolutionary bed (4 in 1) and purchase the trundle bed later?
Yes!This is exactly our recommendation if an extra bed is not an immediate necessity for your family. Our system is modular: you can invest only in the main structure (4 in 1) now and, in the future, purchase the trundle bed separately to complement your project with full compatibility.
Can I use the trundle bed and drawers on the same bed?
No.Both are designed to occupy the free space under the main bed structure, so they cannot be used simultaneously. Additionally, attempting to stack the trundle bed on top of the drawers would make the main bed excessively high and ergonomically incorrect, compromising the child's safety and autonomy. You must choose the functionality that best suits your routine: extra sleeping space (Trundle Bed) or storage (Drawers).
My child is already over 5 years old. Is it still worth the investment?
Absolutely. From 5 years old, the furniture goes directly into Phase 3 (elevated with rails and trundle bed use allowed) and then transitions to Phase 4, ensuring over a decade of continuous use with a single, definitive piece.
2. Structure, Safety, and Finish
Does the bed have any MDF parts in its structure?
Definitely not.Our furniture is 100% MDF-free. The Palito Bed is entirely carved from Taeda Solid Wood with 4 cm thickness. A monumental robustness, made to withstand assembly and disassembly for generations without losing firmness.
What wood is used?
We work exclusively with Taedasolid wood. As one of the rare structural species in the world — with superior density and hardness — it delivers an impeccable finish. It is the raw material for high-standard exports from Brazil to the USA and Europe.
Is Taeda not Pine?
No, there is a technical abyss between them. Although they share the same botanical family, common pine is a soft and utilitarian wood for crates. Our Southern Taedais a high-engineering, ultra-resistant wood with FSC certification (conscious luxury and 100% renewable).
Is the bed completely safe for my baby?
Safety is our non-negotiable standard through two absolute fronts:
- ABNT Standard Safety:The spacing of the rails strictly follows the guidelines for children's furniture, eliminating risks of entrapment.
- Passive Protection (Zero Sharp Edges):All edges and parts have perfectly rounded corners.
Can I buy an extra rail to fully close the side of the bed?
No.The side opening gap is intentional and essential for autonomy. Completely closing the bed creates a feeling of confinement that induces the child to try to climb the structure, generating risks of accidents. The open space serves for safe entry and exit.
Can I request the rails to be manufactured at a greater height?
No.The rails have the ideal height calculated by engineering and neuropediatrics to offer a passive barrier during sleep. If the rail were higher, if the child tried to climb the furniture while awake, the impact of a potential fall would be much more severe.
Can the paint or varnish scratch or be harmful to health?
Not at all. We use premium Aliphatic Painttechnology, which does not yellow and has very high scratch resistance. It is 100% non-toxic and fully cured at the factory: it does not release residues or emit gases, ensuring clean air in the room.
Does the bed support the weight of an adult?
Yes.The robust solid wood structure supports daily use by the entire family. The Single version supports up to 120 kgand the Full version supports up to 150 kg, allowing parents to lie down with complete stability and safety.
Is the color of the wood and paint exactly the same as in the photo?
Not exactly. Because we use natural solid wood, there are normal variations in grains, textures, and tones — which proves that your piece is unique. Additionally, the perception of the tone varies according to the ambient lighting and the calibration of your screen.
Is it possible to customize the bed measurements?
No.Our high standard comes from a production line under millimeter engineering. Having a rigid production standard is what guarantees safety, weight tests, and maximum structural rigor of the furniture.
3. Measurements and Mattress
What are the size options for the main bed and trundle bed?
We do not work with mini-beds. We offer two definitive size options for your project:
- Standard Single Option:Universal comfort for all ages.Main Bed:199 × 99 cm (Height: 44 cm Montessori / 64 cm Elevated with 20 cm legs)Trundle Bed:190 × 99 × 15 cm
- Full Option:The dream space for co-sleeping or reading stories.Main Bed:199 × 139 cm (Height: 44 cm Montessori / 64 cm Elevated with 20 cm legs)Trundle Bed:190 × 139 × 15 cm
How does the transformation and use of the Trundle Bed work?
The trundle bed is perfectly embedded under the main structure and slides on soft castors that do not scratch the floor.
Engineering note:The trundle bed was designed for the elevated phases of the furniture (Phases 1, 3, and 4). In Phase 2 (Montessori), being close to the floor, the trundle bed structure must be stored separately until the furniture is elevated again with the 20 cm legs.
What are the measurements of the approved Cleide mattresses?
To ensure millimeter fit and rail safety, the mattresses have the following dimensions (Length × Width × Height):
- For the Main Bed (14 cm thickness):Single Mattress:188 × 88 × 14 cmFull Mattress:188 × 128 × 14 cm
- For the Trundle Bed (12 cm thickness):Single Trundle Mattress:184 × 88 × 12 cmFull Trundle Mattress:184 × 128 × 12 cm
Is the mattress height not too low? Is it uncomfortable?
Not at all. In high-standard carpentry, comfort comes from foam density, not the physical height of the block.
- On the Main Bed (14 cm):The thickness is exact to ensure orthopedic support and preserve the useful safety height of the rails. Taller mattresses reduce the efficiency of protection and are not recommended.
- On the Trundle Bed (12 cm):Thanks to the high technology of Cleide foam (available in D28 or D33), the mattress accommodates adults with extreme comfort, without deforming.
I want to lie down with my child to lull them to sleep. How do I choose the density?
If you only lie down to lull them to sleep or read a story, choose the density based on the child's weight (D23). The high-performance foam temporarily supports the adult and returns to its original state. If the intention is to frequently share the bed all night, we recommend the hybrid D28density, which balances support for the adult and comfort for the child.
Is the mattress included in the price?
No.The mattress is not included. At the time of purchase, you can choose to purchase only the bed frame or add the ideal Cleide mattresses directly to your cart.
